PRELIMINARIES

This code of conduct agreement, or the "Agreement," governs the relationship between site members. Anyone listing a package is also known as “package owner”, “sharing”, “listing” or “owner”; anyone renting a package, also known as “renting”, “borrowing” or “client”, and Borrowed Wedding Inc., also known as "We," "Us" or "BWI." 

By accepting it electronically or otherwise, you, or the "member," agree to adhere to this Agreement’s conditions.

 

PACKAGE OWNERS

Anyone listing a package is also known as “package owner”, “sharing”, “listing” or “owner”.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT PRINCIPLES & REQUIREMENTS

 

When listing or sharing a wedding package, the owner agrees to:

  • Provide Borrowed Wedding Inc. with an itemized list (including item name, description, supplier/location of purchase, and replacement costs (CAD)) for each package, prior to any rentals taking place. Download the Inventory & Replacement Values template here.

  • Use the rental inspection report at the time of pick-up and the time of return, acknowledging any damage or loss beyond normal wear and tear. Get the Rental Inspection Report template here.

  • Remain 100% transparent at all times. 

  • Abide by all Borrowed Wedding Inc. policies and adhere to all applicable laws.

  • Maintain accurate and current account information at all times.

  • You agree to keep any personal information collected from other site members, private and confidential at all times.

  • Never misrepresent themselves or those they are listing for, or on behalf of.

  • Never list or share products that may cause any type of harm to Borrowed Wedding members, or their guests.

  • Report any violations of the Code of Conduct to BWI directly.

  • Determine to price using the Borrowed Wedding price guidelines provided here.

    • You are in full control of your pricing, however, Borrowed Wedding requires each package to be discounted anywhere between 20-80 % off their replacement value. 

  • Meet the minimum package size requirements set forth by Borrowed Wedding Inc.

    • Minimums include:

      • Accent packages require a minimum of 5 different items to be listed on Borrowed Wedding

      • Ceremony packages require a minimum of 5 different items to be listed on Borrowed Wedding

      • Reception packages require a minimum of 5 different items to be listed on Borrowed Wedding

      • Full wedding packages require a minimum of 5 different items to be listed on Borrowed Wedding

        • Please note that items that go together are considered as one item. For example, 15 table numbers will count as one item. in a package

  • Each listing must include a description, inventory list and retail value for transparency and compliance purposes.

  • Obtain approval for images and videos used in listings, and include credit to source or photographers in the listing under the “credits” section.

  • Never engage in any offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour. This applies to all your activities involved with our platform, including but not limited to:

    • Information provided on your account.

    • Information provided in listings, including both images and content.

    • Any communication between yourself and other members, or you and BWI representatives.

    • Refusal to share a package with someone based on age, religion, ethnicity/nationality, disability / medical history, marital or civil partnership status, gender identity or sexual orientation.

 

INTOLERABLE ACTIONS

We expect you to act in a fair and honest manner at all times. The following actions will not be  tolerated on the Borrowed Wedding platform:

  • Any behaviour that could be deemed as manipulative or misleading and effects part of the renting or sharing experience.

  • Any false information or images listed will result in listing and membership termination.

  • Use of any images, copyright or otherwise, without permission.

  • Listing or sharing any Illegal, dangerous or potentially harmful items.

  • Any action that may intentionally impact another owner, their listings or their ratings in a negative manner.

  • Any act of offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour. This applies to all your activities involved with our platform, including but not limited to:

    • Information provided on your account.

    • Information provided in listings, including both images and content.

    • Any communication between yourself and other members, or you and BWI representatives

    • Refusal to share a package with someone based on age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, disability, medical history, marital or civil partnership status, gender identity or sexual orientation

 

CLIENTS

Anyone renting a package, also known as “renting”, “borrowing” or “client”.

ELIGIBILITY

Any member on the Borrowed Wedding platform is eligible to list and share a wedding package at any time. Listing and sharing is currently restricted to privately owned items only and excludes businesses, such as rental companies. 

  • User names and member profiles cannot contain business name, logos or URLs

  • Users who fail to comply with Borrowed Wedding Inc.'s policies, terms of use, or code of conduct may be blocked from the site.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT PRINCIPLES & REQUIREMENTS

When borrowing or renting a wedding package, the client agrees to:

  • Make note of any damaged items or missing items on the rental inspection report at the time of pick-up and the time of return. Failure to acknowledge any damages or missing items prior to your event date may result in you being held liable for said items.

  • Remain 100% transparent at all times. 

  • Abide by all Borrowed Wedding Inc. policies and adhere to all applicable laws.

  • Maintain accurate and current account information at all times.

  • You agree to keep any personal information collected from other site members, private and confidential at all times.

  • Never misrepresent yourself or those you are renting for, or on behalf of.

  • Be 100% respectful of all items included in any package you borrow/rent. The goal is to return items in the same state and condition you receive them in.

  • Never rent, use or return products that may cause any type of harm to individuals, owners, members or anyone that may come in contact with said items.

  • In the event of an item being damaged, lost or destroyed, you are expected to be completely honest by contacting the owner directly, and listing said items in the return portion of the inspection report.

  • You agree you will be held responsible for paying the full replacement value of any damaged, lost or destroyed items, based on the replacement values the owner submits to Borrowed Wedding Inc. In the event items exceed the paid security deposit, you will forfeit your security deposit and be invoiced by BWI for the outstanding balance. 

  • Report any violations of the Code of Conduct to BWI directly

  • Never engage in any offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour. This applies to all your activities involved with our platform, including but not limited to:

  • Information provided on your account.

  • Information provided in listings, including both images and content.

  • Any communication between yourself and other members, owners, or you and BWI representatives.

  • Refusal to share a package with someone based on age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, disability, medical history, marital or civil partnership status, gender identity or sexual orientation.

POSTING POLICIES

The following activities are prohibited from Borrowed Wedding Inc.

  • Posting an item for rent that is illegal to own, rent, buy, or sell in your country of residence.

  • Posting individual items for rent. All listings must adhere to the minimum package requirements, meet all listing criteria, and be approved by BW administration before the listing becomes live.

  • Posting items that are homemade.

  • Posting duplicate listings or using the same title and/or content of other listings.

  • Posting a listing that serves no purpose but to redirect traffic to another website.

  • Posting a listing that includes provocative or mature content or profanity.

  • Posting a listing that contains discriminatory content.

  • Posting a listing that misleads or falsely represents members or items.

  • Posting as a business entity or on behalf of a business. 

  • Posting as a minor. For security reasons, members must be over the age of 18 to use of the Borrowed Wedding platform to rent or share wedding packages.

  • Posting a listing that does not comply with Borrowed Wedding Inc.'s policies, terms of use, or code of conduct may be removed from the site.

  • Posting images that may be subject to copyright infringement or unauthorized use.

 

DISCLAIMER

Borrowed Wedding Inc. strives to create a positive user experience that is transparent, fair, and anti-discriminatory.  Clients and users are expected to adhere to the code of conduct principles outlined at all times. Any violation to the Code of Conduct, principles, and values may be subject to review and may result in the termination of membership and site use.

Any fraudulent and/or illegal activities will not be tolerated and any member suspected of such activities will be reported to local authorities with proof.
